My grandfather John Jones (17013) served in 1/6th South Staffs battalion from January 1915 to Saturday 16th March 1918 when he was killed in action but we don't know where or how. He is buried in Noeux-les-Mines cemetery extension which we have visited. We would very much like to know where the regiment was and what it was doing when he was killed . He left a wife and 5 children -- my mother being born posthumously. The war diaries I have found don't go that far.
